Established in 2005, Wild Thread as Design Co began its journey as a family business in a modest workshop in the historic heart of UP, India and has since evolved into a major manufacturer with extensive production capabilities throughout India. Our ascent from a small-scale craft producer to a key player in the market underscores our unwavering dedication to quality and our capacity to fulfil the varied demands of an international clientele.
Initially focused on crafting simple wooden boxes, our production capabilities have now broadened to encompass sophisticated wooden packaging, bespoke point-of-sale products, and a wide array of unique wood projects.
In 2020, after meeting Sara, Mohit along with Kelly expanded his business within Europe, Wild Thread established as a dedicated sales and marketing division in the UK to better serve our clientele in the region. Our experienced team is dedicated to innovation and excellence, consistently striving to realise your visions with tangible products that meet the needs of our increasingly global customer base.
About Founders
Sara Bahl – Founder & Maker
Based in London, Sara is the creative soul behind Wildthread. After marriage, her life journey led her to build a home rooted in warmth, simplicity, and conscious living — which became the foundation of Wildthread. Inspired by nature, slow craftsmanship, and everyday rituals, she handcrafts thoughtful home décor and kitchenware using natural materials such as wood, linen, cotton, and jute. For Sara, Wildthread is a heartfelt expression of creating pieces that bring calm, beauty, and meaning into modern homes.
Mohit Bahl – Director & Craft Partner Originally from Gujarat, India, Mohit grew up surrounded by rich artisan traditions, natural materials, and skilled craftsmanship. This deep cultural connection shaped his respect for sustainable making and timeless design. At WildThread, he brings this heritage to life, working closely with materials and techniques that honor tradition while serving contemporary living. Together with Sara, he helps transform their shared vision into soulful, durable pieces that celebrate nature, craftsmanship, and intentional homes.
